Italian Alps and The Dolomites. The Italian Alps are contiguous with the Austrian Alps. In fact, many of the people in the northern areas only speak German even though they are Italians. The Dolomites are an awesome range of mountains comprised of a combination of rocky peaks, deep green valleys and rolling hills. The area is replete with ski areas many interconnected by a system of lifts. Most people ski from area to area and make their way back to their starting point (hopefully by the end of the day). We traveled here with our friends Agnieszka and Leszek and enjoyed a terrific time together.
